Michael L. Kinum joined Gleason, Dunn, Walsh & O’Shea in May of 2021 as a principal. He concentrates his practice in commercial lending, real estate and corporate law. In addition, he handles matters affecting the volunteer fire service. He represents banks and non-bank lenders in connection with their asset-based, real estate, construction, interim and long-term secured lending. Mr. Kinum is involved with government-guaranteed and government-sponsored credit facilities, including those under the United States Small Business Administration’s 7(a) and 504 loan programs. He is involved with transactions throughout New York State that are aimed at fostering economic development, creating or preserving job opportunities, stimulating growth and expanding and modernizing businesses. He advises commercial banks and lending institutions in all areas of need, including loan documentation and closing, credit policy and loan reviews, as well as banking regulations and interpretation.
Prior to entering into private practice, Mr. Kinum served as Deputy Legal Counsel to the Governor of Connecticut and as General Counsel to the New York State Senate Majority Higher Education Committee Chairman. He has also served as Vice President and General Counsel of New York Business Development Corporation and its affiliated entities.
